Julia Bobell

Julia Bobell grew up in the small town of Heyworth, IL until she moved to Cleveland, TN to attend Lee University. She is currently in the final stages of her undergraduate career and plans to graduate this semester with a degree in music performance on oboe. While at Lee, Julia has studied under Robert Burks, Carey Shinbaum, and Phylis Secrist in furthering her musical abilities. She is currently the principal oboe player for Lee’s Orchestra and Wind Ensemble and has been a member of the Symphonic Band, chamber program, and pep band. Before Lee, Julia had the opportunity to attend Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp for two years as the principal oboist in their Symphonic Band and second chair in their Masterworks Orchestra. She has also been a part of the Illinois Music Education Association All-State Band and was named one of the winners of Southern Adventist University’s concerto competition back in 2020. Recently, she was selected to perform in Lee University’s Senior Honors Concert. Miss Bobell has been playing oboe for over ten years and plans to further her education after Lee University by attending graduate school.
